Here are some customer submitted pictures of the way they customized their walking
canes. Like the green metalic tape used on the clear spiral cane above
for a candy cane effect. They are appropriate for long term and short
term users. People remark how sleek they are. |
This wonka cane was made by a customer I just supplied the clear tube materials. |

Steve, It's really simple to make, I can tell you how if you'd like to make the top, that's really all it is. Wouldn't take you any time at all and you could sell them. I purchased the wood ball on top from Joann's craft store for $1.49 plus tax and some white and black acrylic paint for 59 cents each. I had a high gloss sealer/spray but that doesn't cost much either. I painted the swirls on the ball and applied about 7 to 8 coats of gloss and let it dry real well. My husband Dennis put a small screw size hole in one of the black rubber tips you sent and since the ball already comes with a pre drilled hole for a screw, he put one of those two ended screws in the ball and the other end thru the rubber tip and screwed a nut on the inside of the tip to hold the ball on (it works really well). Then you just put the rubber tip on the top and wa-la, it's done. I used the "party favor" candy from the wedding section at Joann's. One bag is plenty at $4.69 I think it was. I tried other candy and these work best cause they won't melt or get sticky inside the tube. I fill it from the bottom. Dennis shortened the cane a bit for me before we added the ball too. |
